Sydney Metro CTP (City & Southwest)

Sydney Metro CTP is part of Australia’s largest public transport project, connecting the city’s north and southwest through a high-capacity, rapid transit system. Virtus Infrastructure contributed to the project by supporting civil works and infrastructure development, ensuring the safe and efficient construction of tunnels and stations. The project will double the capacity of Sydney’s rail network, providing faster, more frequent services and easing congestion on existing lines.

The M8 Tunnel is a critical segment of Sydney’s WestConnex project, providing a faster, more efficient route for traffic travelling between Sydney’s inner west and south-western suburbs. Virtus Infrastructure was engaged in key civil works and mechanical installations within the twin tunnels, which span over 9 kilometres. The M8 significantly reduces travel times, bypassing congested roads and supporting the growing population and economy in Sydney’s southwest. The tunnel also integrates seamlessly with the broader motorway network, enhancing connectivity for commuters and freight alike.
